In April, our speaker was GySgt Jon Carpenter, USMCR a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq and a Las Vegas Metro Police Officer. GySgt Carpenter provided a fascinating slide show of conditions in Iraq and talked about the positive accomplishments that the media refuses to cover.

March featured Jon Ralston, provided his perspective on the “progress” of the legislative session. Before the speech, candidates are given the opportunity to address the members, identify who they are and the office for which they are running.

In February, Mr. Bill McWilliams, a local author, provided members with a “Perspective on America’s Major, Wars 1917 – 2004. Mr. McWilliams provided information on how today’s terrorist is not much different from the enemies of WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Unfortunately, we do not have pictures of that lunch.

For the January meeting, our speaker was Garn Mabey, Asst. Minority Leader in the Nevada State Assembly. Just prior to traveling to Carson City, Assemblyman Mabey gave members an preview of the upcoming 2005 legislative session.
