President's Message by Michael Mazur Published February 2010 The Republican Party is headed in the right direction in 2010. Scott Brown obtained a key victory in Massachusetts in January and the momentum continues to build in the Republican's favor. This is the beginning of a new opportunity to put a stop to the runaway spending that has been occurring. Senator-elect Brown has set the bar, and now it is our turn to continue the success in Nevada. We have been watching the momentum grow for quite some time now. Last month, the NRMC luncheon had one of the best attended events in years. Over 162 members and guests attended to hear our special guest speaker Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki speak. In addition, many of the local, state and federal candidates and elected officials attended and shared their views with us. This month, we are pleased to have District Attorney David Roger as our guest speaker. Mr. Roger manages a $65 million budget and more than 700 attorneys and support personnel who handle approximately 65,000 cases annually for Clark County. The luncheon will be held on February 1, 2010 at Cili Restaurant at Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas.
In addition, we had over 70 attendees at our monthly mixer that was held at the
Italian American Social Club on Sahara in January. We featured two guest speakers,
Assemblyman John Hambrick and Danny Tarkanian. Each month, we will provide an
opportunity to meet, mix and mingle with the Republican candidates in an informal
and casual environment. Our next mixer will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at
5:30-7:30pm. We welcome everyone to attend and meet the future leaders of our
State and our Country.
