President's Message by Russ Mickelson Published March 2008 Presidential politics has placed Nevada in the National spotlight. The statewide success of the Nevada GOP Caucus and the Clark County GOP Convention demonstrated Republicans’ ability to plan and conduct orderly and enthusiastic political activities. Let us carry the enthusiasm forward to victory in November for all Republican candidates. The next Big Event is the Clark County Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday evening, March 29. This is a great opportunity to hear Guest Speaker Mike Duncan, Chairman of the Republican National Committee: planner, political strategist and leader par excellence. Read about Mr. Duncan’s bio on the second page of the March 2008 NRMC newsletter. County GOP Chairman Bernie Zadrowski, sporting the party’s closet crew cut, will welcome us at the fabulous Venetian Resort Palazzo Ballroom. GOP National Committeeman Joe W. Brown as Master of Ceremonies will assure the introductions and fun moves smoothly along. The VIP Reception at 5:30pm will feature a string ensemble involving nine talented musicians from the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra along with photo opportunities with Mr. Duncan. For all guests, the meet and mingle 6:00pm Cocktail Hour will enjoy the popular melodies and artistry of pianist Richard Straub. Now, can you top this? A live auction featuring “auctioneer”, the most charming and intellectually brilliant talk show hostess on Radio, Heidi Harris. For the audience, an assortment of valuable and fun prizes awarded with a smile. Long time Vegas lounge entertainer and radio personality Dennis Bono will vocalize patriotic songs. His charming wife, former Lt. Governor Lorraine Hunt, will be attending along with a long list of GOP leaders and elected officials.
The Lincoln Day Dinner is a major fundraiser for the Clark County GOP party to pay expenses.
